The Civic District

Took a walk around the civic district this evening, i felt like taking some pictures as i havent taken ANY over the past week. Stress levels are pretty high for me this week and i found this a great way to destress. Thanks to all the supportive folks around me esp TLOML and Fatty.

My gran passed away today in perth...tis a sad day for my family.

At peace at last too soon for us, taken to rest in the arms of Jesus.

She walked this earth too short it seems, for now all we have are memories and dreams.

Return of the Drip

As i said in my earlier post i pinched this idea from some guy on the net...and i did try in out earlier in the office toilet but that didnt come out too well. So i went back to the drawing board or the tap as it were and took these shots in TLOML's bathroom. Lots of room for improvement but i like the way that the image is reversed in the water droplets. There is a scientific explanation for this but i like to thing its magic.
I think the necklace like effect of the earlier post is nicer though. I think each tap drops a different style gobule of water

Fri Evening

Went to Pasir Ris dog run this evening, we brought fatty and megan along.
Megan selected a nice little ball for pepper to play with, pepper has of course gutted the poor innocent ball.

I saw something similar to the dripping tape on another site of course it was much better than what i have done here, but i did this in 2 or 3 mins without a tripod and or any proper lighting. i think i may go home and keep at it till i get a nice shot.

A couple of friends dropped by my office today and we took a walk through
Pongol park for lunch at he coffee shop.

Yes Sir

I have returned to Rivervale from my two days in the bukit timah region. Yesterday i was sent to stand in for a manager who was on medical leave, and boy was it busy there. Non stop action in south haven and a rather long journey home as well.(i slept like a pig on the train)
Today i had to go to maju camp for general reporting even though my life as a soldier is almost over they still want to squeeze every bit of camo green from me. Another long journey there, hang around, spend 10mins talking then another long journey back to sengkang and work(damn counicl mtg tonight!). One advantage was i managed to stop off at the army EMART and pick up track shoes, sandals and socks coming to around 80$ or so..of which not one red cent of mine was spent, the army covers all these expenses so that was a great plus for the morning, The worst part of the day is i dont have my camera, i am not allowed to bring it into camp so i had to leave it at home.So no pics fro me today...but there is always tom.

Yes i was back at the zoo today went with TLOML and Moo+Doo, 830am bright and early after a late night.

One year on...pepper

On dec 5th 2005 pepper turned 1yr old in human years..in doggy years she is a ripe old 7 going on 14. Sometime after chinese new year last year this little bundle of fur came into our lives and it was one of the best things we have done together as a couple. We agonized over the idea of getting a dog, we had gone and seen so many puppies and we both didnt think it was a wise choice..with work and the fact that we were in our comfort zone would this be too big a task for us to manage? would we get bored of the dog after awhile? would we fight over who has to do what? After a year i am happy to say our fears were totally misplaced, from the day she put her tiny little paws into her new home she has brought joy into our lives, does she know what she does for us? i doubt it. When the two philips and i went to look at dogs that sunday afternoon and they took zorro(her brother) home this little bundle of baboon energy won me over, and the next day when Tloml set eyes on her and started to tear i knew that my wife was hooked too.
When we left her in the shop that night and went home we talked about all the problems that we might face but we both could hardly sleep for thinking of her all alone in her tiny cage...we told the man we would be back on wens and as we drove up to the shop i was so scared that she would be gone but lo and behold there she was waiting for her new mummy and daddy.
There is no greater feeling then coming home from a sucky day of work and finding my two fattys waiting for me. she sleeps at the foot of bed when i sleep, she wakes up when i do when i come out of the bathroom she is sitting there waitng for me, as i type this she is fast asleep on the chair next to me. Perfect? well she wont win any dog shows but she is perfect for us.
