Just the name alone evokes more then a little thrill for me, The Majestic. Built in 1928 as a Theatre by Eu Tong Sen and was known Tien Yien Moh Toi Theatre till 1938 when it was renamed Queens Theatre by the Shaw brothers who also converted it into a cinema. At the end of the war The Majestic Film Company took over and gave it its current name. Its now a shopping mall.

Like some kind of alien space craft plonked in the middle of china town/duxton The Pinnacle at Duxton seems to tower over everything in its shadow. Its really difficult to take pictures without this complex of buildings stepping into the frame like an uninvited guest. It is a dominating presence in the area. I have yet to decide if I like the complex or not, judgement will be withheld.

Below are pictures of the now abandoned Yan Kit Swimming Pool, its not that old really opened in 1952 and closed in 2001. This is a place i really want to get into. akan datang.

They have gutted the front portion of the trail for the Youth Olympics, lets hope they do a good job on it.

This is the first picture ever taken of Isabella Faith Simon. As the nurse and I walked her to the nusery she insted i run back and grab my camera.
Below her first bath at home.
Below, the best big sister and first born anyone could ask for. She helps bath the baby and is very protective. AND boy does she make me laugh.

Under the cot we have staff nurse Pepper. She sits with me for the night feeds and follows me throughout the night when I go and check on the girls. Sometimes she has a nap under the cot.

Poor baby, got a slight eye infection and a rash but she is such a good girl.

Waiting for a name.

This is a sketch i drew during my little stay in the hospital with Tlomy. I traced it suing the digi pen and made some modifications on adobe. Its waiting for a name and i shall ask Caitlin to give it one.

Home is where my family is.

We are all home, my children (including pepper) my wife and I. All is right with the world today.

nervous as hell. tomorrow is the big day the arrival of little isabella (we are still deciding). Tlomy has carried child for 9 months and she has suffered. Everything will go fine tomorrow i know that but i worry at this point i worry.....

Copper.

Today i tried to learn how to apply textures using the palette knife. s can by seen by the above i was not successful, but i do like this copper colour.

This is one of mine. Black on copper. I screwed it up by forgetting to dry the brush! dang. Plus i couldnt figure out how to use impasto, can u see the bit of texturing i tried on the background bah

I am not artistic, I never was and i doubt i ever will be. I may have the ideas but i dont have the skills but i try. I find it relaxes me, painting, photography playing around with photoshop it calms me down and even though i doubt i will be any good, it is very good for me.

My friends from italy got together and bought me this lovely gift, its a digital pen that i can draw with or even write with. Its not easy to use but i will get the hang of it! This is a tracing i did of myself.

Today was an all arts day for my family. Megan and I spent a couple of happy hours at the Singapore Art Museum. We have a private tour guide and she really did a great job, I think she was impressed with some of Megan's remarks and questions. They are having an exhibition on Philippino art, and generally its art with a message it was very interesting. Hit twitter http://twitter.com/doomedtroll for some of the stuff Megs and i did today. While Megan and i were at the museum, Toml and Caitlin were attending an art class by that famed artist, godma. Todays lesson was on Acrylics. I was so excited by this that i went and bought art supplies. So after dinner tloml and i sat outside and did some painting.

Above is one done by Tloml its my favourite next to Caitlin's Rainbow.
Some of them we did together, some we did on our own. We cut the special paper down to size so that we could try out different things. We need more supplies, bigger brushes and stuff.
