These are Firebugs, they have slight resemblance to assassin bugs but alas they are nothing as exciting. I didn't do a good job on these, i think i can do better! So get used to seeing these insects cause I reckon they may appear here more often.
For one so small, you seem so strong My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm This bond between us can’t be broken I will be here don’t you cry----Phil Collins

This Morning
So the practicing continues..i know i can get sharper pictures i mean look at the fuzz on the leaf if i can get that i can get that by accident i can get the perfect shot by design..i hope
By the way click oon the pics, there still not full sized but hey its the best i can do with blogger.
This is a wasted shot. If only i had gotten the lady bug in focus as well, i would have had 3 animals in one frame. The lady bug, the ant and the aphids (one of which the lady bug is munching) . This shot frustrates me.

Imagine if i knew what i was doing....
After dinner i spotted this insect loitering in near peppers bowl so snap took a picture. Its cropped. Then as everyone was falling asleep i decided to take the camera for a wee spin around the block.
Below is an ant cropped form the above picture for some reason I cant upload full sized pics as i said before . I really got to practice with my macro setup. I forget to test out the gear on my other camera...such is life
Thin Lizzie
After feeding bella i found this fella on the kitchen floor. so i snapped a couple of shots. I noticed that the pics are a little grainy when i shoot with the 350d which is 5 yrs old i reckon. I really should try the macro set up with my 20d.

Frogs Again.
Today the objective was to bag a couple of Chubby Frogs, these frogs have many nick names but I think chubby seems about right. It rained a little today and we knew it would be easier to catch them as they normally come out when the ground is nice and moist. My frog hunting buddies, Philip, Megan and Michael had caught a couple of Asian Toads and a couple of Chubby Frogs by the time I got there so I did not have to do any hunting. We also dragged Russel into our quest once again and Sherwin peddled by to take some pictures as well. I am not as pleased with my chubby frog shots as i am with my asian toads but thats my fault not the frogs. The Chubby Frogs really are a nice colour. As you can see it had puffed itself up to scare me away. All frogs released in the same location they are caught in.
Another very typical example of the Asian Toad (caught by Michael). This time with the more yellow colouration
We have become much more careful in our hunts, there seems to be an increase of snakes in the area and we came across a dead baby cobra. It was probably killed by the guys who cut the grass a few days ago. This would be the 3rd snake seen in the area in as many weeks.
As chance would have it we stumbled onto the nocturnal activities of a couple of moths. I wish i knew the species but alas i am no mothman (cue laughter)
