Happy Birthday Corey

Tloml and i went to Coreys place for his birthday earlier today and it was a really nice evening! Good conversation, good food and great company!

A Stroll

Met up with Sherwin this evening and went for a walk in the woods as it were. Actually we went down to Pongol Jetty, a place that i have not been in a very very very long time. Lots of changes, the old wooden jetty has been replaced, the beach has been cleared, lots of nice clean white beach sand dumped and even a new breakwater. I will readily admit the fact that we didnt stretch ourselves with our strolll, a short walk along the beach then we turned off and headed to pongol marina for a drink and a light snack. I took a variety of pictures which turned out "ok" i thought but these are the ones that i like the most.

Yes folks this pic is in TWO POST..

"For the poor there is no way out..."
I thought long and hard about that caption and settled on it yesterday BUT i didnt stop thinking about it, it sort of hit me this morning.
I am an optimist i always try and look at the glass as half full, try. Yet when i looked at this shot the caption was one of defeat, that there is no way out BUT i was wrong. For the guy in the picture who is a cleaner in my estate, he may be poor BUT he has dignity and he has HOPE. He is doing a JOB that no one else wants, that the average singaporean would look down on BUT here he is doing it to the best of his ability(the picture does not capture the severe limp he has). The Arrow on the WAY OUT sign is pointing at him and saying "there is always a way out"

Thursday Part II

Took a walk around east coast park this evening after work. Wanted to test out my mono pod which i did, though there wasnt much need for a trip/mono pod this evening! Nothing special..just some test shots

Wednesday-for some reason this spelling feels wrong

Moo and Doo dropped by for dinner last night..they also brought the dinner hehehe. Aside from the kway teow which was devoured, they ALSO brought my very very early birthday present and man what an excellent gift!!! A SLIK MONOPOD!!! WOO HOO!! its sitting next to me as i type and i think this week it will use alot...THANKS MOO-DOO. As you can see mother and daughter were deep in discussion actually the moo was teaching some excercises to TLOML.
Thie big news of the day is that the DOO got himself a beautiful OLYMPUS DIGITAL SLR!! its a awesome camera, the first slr with a swivel lcd screen! i tested it out and the buttons were all placed in good spots, it looks pretty good to use! Now the Doo is part of our little clan of slr photographers!!! LIKE THE SNAPS BEGIN!

Tuesday

Had a lovely dinner with TLOML and my Mother. TLOML prepared a lovely sweet and sour fish which we demolished and my mum made a lovely corn n chicken soup.

Went for a lovely dinner at pasta fresca,eas coast with TLOML. We took a detour BUT i am not not going to blog about that as TLOML is going to be doing that.

Happy Birthday Michael

Actually his birthday was on wensday but because we were all busy the Machados had a bbq on friday. I am not supposed to blog this event as the blogging rights for it have been sold to TLOML. i will however post a lovely pic of the days VIP, all of 3years old.

Croc Hunter In Singapore

The crocodile hunter dropped by the Singapore Zoo today for the opening of the recently renovated Australian Outback Display...so as i am a fan of this fella i went down and had a look.
Met the Doo at the zoo, was pretty crowded and it was blazing hot but we braved the heat and the crowd to see mr"crikey" himself. It was an enjoyable outing and i took some strange shots ..

In my defence i will state again that the pics i posted i nthe last post were not so much about the subject but about the settings of the camera, focal length,iso,aperture speed and other such things.

Test Test....

Took a walk along changi beach this morning, i just wanted to test the settings on my camera and check if i could get it right. Not so much about the subject as about the camera...so dont look too closely at the pics.Not much to look at lol. All pics have been resized to 19-225 of their orignal size and cropped.

Cousins, steamboat and other colours

We went to visit Debbie(TLOML's Cousin and my old friend) and Adriel at their new house in kallang this evening. I must say, they have a beautiful home, full of fun, colour and life. Our host prepared for us a lovely steamboat (TLOML's fav meal) boy did we stuff our faces!
I also tasted some home brewed beer, which i think i would like to try and make as well!

Each of the rooms in casa "Debril" has a theme wall, so of course we just had to take some pics with my two models who were taken more by surprise i reckon...
